Booster Pump Head Calculator

Total Dynamic Head sized two ways in parallel — local UAE practice (Hazen–Williams, DEWA/Dubai-aligned defaults) alongside an international Darcy–Weisbach cross-check — so the design head you submit is defensible either way.

Duty & Design Factors

Design flow is the peak simultaneous demand for this pump set (per BS EN 806-3 / fixture-unit method, or plant schedule).

Static & Terminal Conditions

Elevation and the pressure the most remote / highest fixture must still see once the pump is running.

Basis of calculation. Local column uses the Hazen–Williams friction method with C-factors and residual-pressure conventions common to UAE domestic water design (DEWA / Dubai Municipality-aligned consultant practice). International column is an independent Darcy–Weisbach check (Colebrook–Swamee–Jain friction factor, Hydraulic Institute velocity guidance) at 20°C. Defaults are typical, editable assumptions — confirm project-specific residual pressure, fixture demand and Civil Defence requirements, and verify the final duty point against the selected pump's published curve.

Suction · 90 mm 0.79 m/s OK
Discharge · 65 mm 1.51 m/s OK
Guidance range: 0.6–1.5 m/s suction, 1.0–3.0 m/s discharge. Outside this band typically means the pipe is under- or over-sized for the duty flow.
